Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy (DISE)

Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy (DISE) is a comprehensive diagnostic procedure that allows a thorough evaluation of the airway whilst the patient sleeping. By using light sedation, sleep can be induced for 30  minutes within a clinic setting, during which the evaluation can take place. Thereafter the patient can return to activities the same day with no downtime.

DISE is especially helpful for patients who cannot adapt to CPAP or want to explore a surgical route to tackle snoring and/or sleep apnoea. It allows our expert consultants to precisely evaluate the airway to identify what treatment options can be tailored to the patient, including multimodal Minimally Invasive Advanced Procedures and non-surgical procedures.

DISE is performed in a medically controlled environment with an anaesthesiologist thus allowing a safe, precise and complete dynamic evaluation - in a real sleep induced environment – of the airway and the collapsible areas in different sleep positions.

Our experts will use DISE to undertake a comprehensive evaluation of your airway and offer solutions to tackling snoring and OSA effectively.
